Energy Save has now sold more than 10,000 heat pumps using R290 (propane) as refrigerant within the Residential Heating business area. This marks an important milestone in the company’s work to accelerate the transition to more energy-efficient and climate-friendly heating solutions.
Propane is a natural refrigerant with very low climate impact and has in recent years become a strategic focus area for Energy Save. Its high energy efficiency, combined with a significantly lower GWP value compared with traditional refrigerants, makes the technology attractive for homeowners who want to reduce both their energy costs and their carbon footprint.
Strong demand from homeowners
Demand for R290-based solutions has increased rapidly, and many European households are looking for more long-term sustainable alternatives for their heating.
“Reaching 10,000 sold R290 heat pumps is clear proof that our technology meets real needs. Many homeowners are looking for reliable, future-proof heating with lower operating costs,” says Yibo Zhao, Deputy CEO at Energy Save.
Facts about Energy Save heat pumps using R290 refrigerant
• Lower energy costs – thanks to high efficiency and stable operation
• Natural refrigerant – with extremely low GWP and strong future readiness in light of upcoming regulatory tightening
• Reliable performance in cold climates – designed to handle Nordic winters
• Reduced carbon footprint – both through operation and the use of R290
