Clean Motion AB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Averroes Tech Manufacturing L.L.C, a Dubai-based renewable energy and e-mobility company, establishing a strategic partnership for the introduction, local assembly, and local manufacturing of Clean Motion products across the Gulf region.
Clean Motion has for some time explored various opportunities in the Gulf region, which it views as a natural fit for solar-powered mobility. Averroes shares Clean Motion's vision for electric and solar-powered mobility and with its regional presence they are well positioned to turn this into reality. The agreement covers Clean Motion's vehicle EVIG but also includes the possibility of introducing future products, modifications, and joint adaptations. The agreed roadmap runs from a demonstration unit deployment in June 2026 followed by a first commercial order by fall 2026. The ambition is to quickly reach at least 40 percent local content and enter into a license agreement in 2027.
"We've had our sights on the gulf-region for quite some time. With Averroes as our partner, we are entering with the right foundation: local knowledge, manufacturing ambition, and a shared long-term view. The timing is no coincidence." said Christoffer Sveder, CCO at Clean Motion AB.
The partnership comes at a moment of accelerating structural demand for electric mobility. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has triggered what the International Energy Agency has described as the largest oil supply disruption in the history of the global oil market. Governments across the region and beyond are actively encouraging reduced fuel consumption and a shift towards electric alternatives.
"Electric mobility in the Gulf is no longer a question of if, it's a race for who gets there first with the right product. Clean Motion's vehicles are purpose-built for this market, and together we're not just entering the region - we're building something that lasts," said Emil Cronholm Baumer, Head of Growth & Branding at Averoes Tech Manufacturing L.L.C.
For the Gulf-region, the case for solar-powered urban mobility has never been stronger. The region's governments face sustained pressure to reduce fossil fuel dependency while managing some of the world's most energy-intensive urban environments. Clean Motion's lightweight, purpose-built electric vehicles are designed precisely for this context.
