The new CHP plant will be built north of Road 104 in Örtofta, next to the existing plant. The plant will complement the existing one and replace some older production units. The plant will be equipped with flue gas condensation and a turbine for electricity production. The CHP plant will comprise one main building of 11,300 m2 gross area.

The new plant will almost double production capacity, which means that Kraftringen will be able to supply a maximum power effect in the grid of about 25 MW to new electricity consumers. It is also a step towards a more robust and sustainable energy system in Skåne.

"It's important to us to meet current and future energy needs sustainably. Our efforts to continuously improve our production have led to a 94 percent reduction in our climate emissions. The new CHP plant will further streamline and improve our production," says Patrik Schneider, Production Manager at Kraftringen's Heating & Cooling business area.

The project is a turnkey contract regarding construction and land. Work will begin in the summer of 2025 and is expected to be completed in the winter/spring of 2028.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2025.
